Baumkuchen is a popular German cake that is essentially a multi-layer cake that is in the shape of a half ring.
Translated in German as “tree cake” the baumkuchen is made with 15 layers of cake that are equally tasty as they are dry.
The cake itself is good but the consistency is a little dry, brittle, and crumbly, making it a pretty messy dessert. I really just wished it was fluffy and light.
Although these desserts initially launched at Epcot in both a vanilla and chocolate covered option, the only flavor offered when I visited was Black Forest.
As much as I wanted to like this, I think I’ll just stick with the liege waffle or one of the other great snacks found in the World Showcase.
Location
You can get the Baumkuchen from Connections Eatery inside of Epcot.
Price
