Best Disney World Roller Coaster
Here are the best Disney World roller coasters ranked from best to worst:
1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Get ready to blast off into the cosmos with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! This turbo-charged roller coaster is inspired by the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy movies and takes you on a wild journey through time and space.
What makes this ride even more unique is its “reverse launch” system, which not only propels you backwards but also sends your car spinning in circles! And let’s not forget about the “Awesome Mix” playlist where you get to jam out to some classic tunes as you zoom through the galaxy. The six different songs you can get during your ride include:
- “Conga” by Gloria Estefan
- “Disco Inferno” by The Trammps
- “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears
- “I Ran” by A Flock of Seagulls
- “One Way or Another” by Blondie
- “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire
The only downside about this ride is that it still uses a virtual queue system that has been pretty easy to use recently, as well as an option to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane.
But with hairpin turns, heart-stopping drops, and speeds of up to 60 mph, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a must-ride for any thrill seeker. So buckle up and get ready to experience the ultimate adventure!
- Height Requirements: 42 inches or taller
- Top Speed: 60 mph

2. Tron Lightcycle Run
Tron Lightcycle Run at Disney World is the ultimate way to experience the adrenaline-packed world of the Grid on a futuristic lightcycle.
With sharp twists, turns, and sudden drops, this coaster reaches top speeds of 59 mph, making it one of the fastest and most exhilarating rides in the park. And with sleek, motorcycle-style ride vehicles, you’ll feel like you’re zipping through the digital world of Tron.
Sure, the seating might be a little tight and awkward, but don’t worry – this ride is over before you know it, clocking in at just over a minute.
If this ride actually opened before Cosmic Rewind as intended, I think that the reviews would’ve been more positive. But the fact that it’s only a minute long is probably one of the biggest flaws.
But as long as you ride it at night, it’ll be an unforgettable experience.

- Top Speed: 59 mph
- Ride Length: 1 minute

The only downside is that it has the second highest wait time at Hollywood Studios. But I think it’s worth it regardless.

Expedition Everest is thrilling coaster that’s perfect for anyone who wants to experience the ultimate rush while exploring the mysteries of the mountain.

With sudden drops, hairpin turns, and unexpected twists and turns, Space Mountain is a thrilling ride that will leave you breathless.
And with its unique indoor design, you’ll feel like you’re hurtling through the stars as you zoom past asteroids and dodge laser beams.
It’s not as good as Disneyland’s (Paris included) but it’s still a classic ride that deserves all the love.

9. Barnstormer Starring The Great Goofini
The Barnstormer may be smaller than some of the other thrill rides, but don’t let its size fool you – it packs a punch that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

The most important ranking factors for this list was enjoyment, vibe, uniqueness, and wait time.
You can honestly go next door to Universal Studios Orlando and get a more thrilling and exciting roller coaster experience, but in my opinion, Disney World has better “storytelling.” Plus Disney has just cooler, more unique rides.
