If you find yourself wanting to visit Disneyland more than a few times a year, then getting yourself a Magic Key annual pass could be the best way to save money, in the long run.
In this quick guide, I’ll break down how many times you need to go to Disneyland in order to break even on your Magic Key.
Get Your Money’s Worth on a Magic Key
In order to get your money’s worth, here’s how many times you need to go to Disneyland to break even when you buy a Magic Key:
- Inspire Magic Key ($1649) = 11 times
- Believe Magic Key ($1249) = 9 times
- Enchant Magic Key ($849) = 6 times
- Imagine Magic Key ($499) = 4 times
Of course you can achieve your break even number quicker especially if you’re someone that typically buys Park Hopper tickets or even multi-day tickets.
One thing I didn’t factor in was Park Hopper add-ons, Genie+, and parking because not everyone will pay for parking, purchase Genie+, or even get a Park Hopper ticket.
How I Got These Number
One day, non-Park Hopper tickets range from $104 to $194 each depending on the time of year.
One-day Park Hopper Tickets range from $169 – $259 each depending the time of the year.
I opted to use the non-Park Hopper ticket average because that seemed more realistic even though the Magic Key does include Park Hopper.
Is the Magic Key worth it?
If you plan on going to Disneyland for at least 3 or 4 days during the year, then absolutely yes the Magic Key is worth it because you’ll save so much money in the long run.
You’ll have Park Hopper, discounted Genie+, discounted Disney room rates, and even food and merchandise discounts.
Even as an out-of-state Enchant Magic Key holder living in Florida, as long as we have 6 individual Disneyland park days during the year, we 100% break even and get our money’s worth.
Then the rest of the year is basically free 🙂
