A trip to Disney World in the summer isn’t complete without those hour long afternoon thunderstorms.
And when that happens, there are a handful of outdoor rides across all four Disney World parks that will close temporarily for safety reasons.
Although a majority of outdoor rides at Disney World remain open and operational when it rains, there are a number of attractions that will close when there’s thunder and lightning in the vicinity.
Below, I’ll provide you with a simple list of rides and attractions that will close when there’s bad weather that Disney deems unsafe for its guests.

Here are all of the rides and attractions that close temporary when there’s inclement weather, such as thunder, lightning, and heavy rain.
Magic Kingdom

Do Disney World rides stay open when it rains?
When there’s light rain, most outdoor Disney World rides will remain open.
All indoor rides and attractions will always be operational regardless of weather, which is great. But if that’s the case, just be prepared to have longer waits since everyone is going to be running for indoor shelter.
