Whether you are looking for a peaceful day of basking in the sun, relaxing in your beautiful cabana, indulging in tasty barbecue and island cuisine, or engaging in a variety of exciting activities, Serenity Bay promises an unforgettable experience tailored exclusively for grown-up Disney Cruise guests.
In this guide, we’ll take a deep dive into this kid-free haven.
The Adults-Only Beach on Castaway Cay
Serenity Bay is the beautiful, adults-only beach on Disney’s Castaway Cay.
Serenity Bay is located on the opposite of the island from the family beach and can be accessed via tram, bicycle, or even walking. (The walk is very very long).
The Serenity Bay beach is very beautiful. The waves are so calm, the water is crystal clear, and the sand is perfectly white.
Plus, compared to the family beach, this beach seems to have a lot less seaweed in the shallow areas, which is a huge plus. That said, don’t let the sand deceive you because there can be quite a bit of broken sea shells that feel amazing on your bare feet…
On the beach, you’ll find plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas nicely spaced out. Plus, you’ll have a couple of smaller chairs that you can bring near dow to the beach to relax and/or sit in the water.
Never have I felt that I wasn’t able to find an open chair regardless of what time I arrive at the beach. That said, you may have to walk the entirety of the beach just to find something free if you get there a little late.
Serenity Bay is adults-only meaning guests 18 and over are allowed to spend the day here. If anyone is under that age or if you bring a child, a Cast Member will politely ask you to visit the family beach instead.
As a result, Serenity Bay is extremely quiet and peaceful.
How do you get to Serenity Bay Beach on Castaway Cay?
Getting to Serenity Bay is very easy. Once you get off the ship, you’ll take an island tram and then get off on the second stop (the Family Beach).
Then you’ll catch a second tram that takes you down the runway to get to Serenity Bay. The trams run quite frequently so you’ll rarely wait over 10-15 minutes.
You can also ride a bike or walk to Serenity Bay. Personally, once you see that walk, you’ll never want to do that, especially in that bright Caribbean sun.
Serenity Bay Barbecue
Serenity Bay also has their own buffet called Serenity Bay BBQ.
The food and drink options that you find here are almost identical to what you’ll find at Cookie’s and Cookie’s Too with a few additions, the most significant being grilled ribeye steak.
Other offerings include hot dogs, cheeseburgers, grilled fish, ribs, steaks, chicken, pasta salad, fresh fruit, cookies, corn on the cobb, salads, and self-service soft serve ice cream.
Plus, there are also drink dispensers for soda, water, and iced tea.
If you decide to eat here, try not to be there during the first 45 minutes because it can get busy. Instead go after that first rush is done eating and you’ll have shorter lines and emptier tables.
Serenity Bay Open-Air Bar
If you’re looking for a beer, cocktail, champagne, or even a pina colada, you can head to the Castaway Air Bar and grab a drink.
Best of all, there will be servers who can take your order while you’re at your lounge chair on the beach and they’ll bring it straight to you. It can get pretty expensive but it’s totally worth it 🙂
Renting a Cabana on Serenity Bay
The best, most luxurious way to spend a day on Castaway Cay is to rent a Serenity Bay Cabana!
These premium beach cabanas are beautifully furnished and are only steps from the crystal clear waters.
Inside each Cabana, you’ll find comfortable seating, luxurious chaise lounge chairs, a fresh water shower, a hammock, unlimited bottle water and soda, fresh fruit, snacks, sunscreen, floats and tubes, and bicycles.
Plus, you’ll also have a Cabana host that you can call who can drive you to the buffet or even take you all the way back to the ship, without having to worry about taking any trams.
Unlike the cabanas found on the family beach, you will need to be at least 18 years or older to rent and stay in one of these.
Cabanas are number 22 to 27, where 22 is the closest to the bar, bathroom, and barbecue, while 26 and 27 are the furthest away. These are also the newest ones they’ve built too.
Personally, I’ve stayed in 23 and 26 but found the beach entrance at 26 to be a lot better and emptier.
Prices to rent a Serenity Bay Cabana are seasonal and they start at $399 for the day for 4 guests. Each cabana can hold up to 10 guests max but each additional guest will cost an extra $50.

Castaway Cay Serenity Bay Massage
Along with getting a massage on the ship, you can also book a massage in an open-air cabana at Serenity Bay.
These tend to fill up extremely fast so be sure to book this as soon as your booking window opens.
Is there wifi on Serenity Bay?
If you have a Disney Cruise wifi package that you purchased onboard for your sailing, you will have access to the wifi on most of the island.
It’s usually a hit and miss, but during our most recent visit, the wifi worked flawlessly and streaming videos on TikTok was free of any issues.
There is also a cell tower that you can connect to if you have an international cell phone plan.
I use Verizon and have connected to the cell phone tower plenty of times.
And there you have it, a glimpse into the always beautiful and peaceful Serenity Bay.
I hope this guide has piqued your curiosity and ignited a longing to experience the tranquility and luxury that await you on Disney Castaway Cay’s adults-only beach.
Whether you’re planning a romantic cruise getaway, a girls’ trip, or a much-needed solo retreat, Serenity Bay offers a slice of paradise just for you.
So, pack your sunscreen, grab a book, and get ready to soak up the sun on those pristine white sands. Indulge in an ice cold beverage, take a dip in the crystal clear waters, or simply let your worries melt away as you embrace the “serenity” that surrounds you.
