If there’s one Disney trip that I have absolutely no guilt sleeping in, lounging, and stuffing my face with all you can eat soft serve, it’s a Disney Cruise.
No Genie+ hacks, no early morning rode dropping, no fighting for ‘Ohana and Space 220 reservations, and absolutely no stress.
Instead, let’s just enjoy all you can eat food, some fun entertainment, trivia, and a boatload of magic.
The Lazy Person’s Guide to Disney Cruises
Here are some tips for people who (really) want to be as lazy as possible on their next Disney Cruise, guilt-free.
1. Skip the Port Adventures
Unless you’re in Europe or Alaska, you can have just as much fun on the ship as you would on a Port Adventure. This is especially true on any Nassau or Cozumel days.
2. Have a self-care day
I genuinely enjoy the spas on all of the Disney Cruises. It’s just extra relaxing, especially if you are able to use the Rainforest area.
But if the spa isn’t your thing, you can always head to the salon or barbershop.
3. The pool is your best friend
Whether if you’re in the adult-only area, the Concierge Sundeck (aboard the Wish), or even the main pool area, just grab a nice spot on the deck above the main pool, sip on your drinks, and bask in the sun.
4. Skip breakfast, sleep in
This might only pertain to me, but I could care less about waking up in time for breakfast. I mean the buffet has some good stuff, but I’d rather sleep in, especially with those blackout curtains.
5. Get a cabana on Castaway Cay
If your Bahama or Caribbean cruise stops at Disney’s Castaway Cay, I recommend that you spend the $500-$600 and get a beachside cabana for the day. It’s by far the best way to enjoy your beach day in your own private sanctuary.
6. Don’t rush to get a spot at any of the shows
Don’t get my wrong, the shows are great, but you can definitely still enjoy the Broadway-style shows from the back of the theater. I’m just not a fan of having to get there early and line up to get a good spot, especially on vacation.
7. Trivia, Bingo, and Games Shows are the way to go
These events are so fun and occur very often on the ship.
8. Watch some movies
I love that there is a movie theater on board that will sometimes even show first-run movies. Best of all, there’s always something playing all day.
9. Order room service and have a movie night
If I don’t feel like doing much after dinner or the show, then we usually head back to the room, find a movie, and order room service until we pass out.
10. Ride the slides at night
Night time is by far the best time to ride the AquaDuck or AquaMouse with little to no wait.
11. If you’re old enough, spend time at the numerous bar, lounges, and nightclub
Grab a drink and watch some adults-only comedy or gameshows. Some of the stuff can surprisingly get pretty frisky lol.
12. Second Seating for dinner is best
Yes, you will be eating until 9:30 or later, but I just like the second seating more because you don’t feel as rushed. You can enjoy the entire day without having to cut it off early to get back to the room and wash up for dinner.
13. Drop the kiddos off at the kids club
Say bye bye to the kids for a few hours as you enjoy some me-time.
…
Hope is helps out any fellow lazy Disney Cruises out there!
