Disneyland is one of the few Disney parks where I don’t feel guilty being lazy at. It just feels that most of the time, people are just more chill and relaxed (at least compared to Disney World). And I love that.
Here’s my lazy guide to Disneyland for any of you who don’t mind taking their time exploring the parks, all while eating and drinking their hearts out.
The Lazy Person’s Guide to Disneyland and California Adventure
Here are some tips for people who (really) hate planning their park days out with jam packed itineraries, but instead want to take it easy and actually enjoy themselves without running around.
1. Mobile Order all your food and drinks
If you hate waiting in line, just use Mobile Order on the Disneyland app and you’ll be able to quickly pick up your delicious food and drinks in a matter of minutes.
2. Buy Genie+ for the day
If you really need to ride a lot of rides and don’t want to waste your day waiting in lines, then paying for Genie+ or Individual Lighting Lanes is great time-saver.
Sure there are some hacks to help you maximize the app, but at the end of the day, you won’t really need them, unless you’re trying to squeeze in as much as you can between the 2 parks in one day.
3. Go on slow days during the slow season
The best day of the week to visit Disneyland with the lowest wait times is Thursday and the day of the week with the lowest wait times at Disney California Adventure is Friday.
In terms of the slowest time of the year, your best bet will be some time from mid-January through February. This does exclude weekends.
4. Eat and Drink More, Ride Less
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to Disneyland and never rode anything, but instead just ate and drank around California Adventure. This is especially in the evenings during the food festivals.
5. Do a VIP Tour
This won’t apply to everyone, but if you wan to ride as much as you can in one day, and plan as little as possible, all while getting the best spots to watch the fireworks or World of Color, then coughing up $500 an hour is the way to go.
…
Hope this helps out a fellow lazy Disneyland goer!
