Topolino’s character breakfast is by far one of the the hardest, most sought-after dining experiences in all of Disney World. Not to mention that their French and Italian influenced signature dinner has become increasingly difficult to reserve during the summer and peak travel seasons.
Thankfully, there are a couple ways to get a reservation to Topolino’s dinner and character breakfast with just a little work and perseverance – here’s how:
How to get a Topolino’s Terrace Reservation
Here are five ways you can get a Topolinos’ reservation for dinner or their character breakfast:
1. Search for a specific time, never the generic “dinner” or “breakfast” search preference.
When trying to book a Topolino’s Terrace reservation, I recommend that you use the My Disney Experience app and select a specify time like 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, etc.
If you were to just select “Dinner” sometimes a restaurant time slot won’t pop up.
Here’s an example that I did for August 15.
When searching for a Topolino’s dinner reservation for a party of 6, I first searched using just the “Dinner” option. Unfortunately, nothing showed up.
However, right after, I searched by selected a time, 5:30 pm to be exact, and a reservation for 5:05 pm showed up.
I’m not sure why the app does this, but this is literally the best way that you can find a reservation to almost any Disney World reservation.
2. Search for a dining reservation 24/7
If you want to dine at Topolino’s Character Breakfast or signature dinner, then you’re going to have to search the My Disney Experience app or Disney World website almost eery second of every day into you’ve successfully booked one.
My method usually involves going on the app with any spare time that I have and searching for a dinner reservation. I do this over and over, all day, everyday until I’ve successfully found one.
It may seem daunting, but I can’t tell you how many times I stumbled upon a reservation after a couple days of searching.
Even if you’re already on your Disney World vacation, I recommend you check the app, even on the same day because you’d be surprised how often you can find a dining reservation at a reasonable time.
People tend to cancel reservations often, especially since Disney will charge you $10 per person for no-show dining reservation, so that’s why there’s a better chance to find a reservation for tomorrow or even the same day.
3. Always check the My Disney Experience app to join the Walk-Up List
Topolino’s breakfast starts at 7:30 am to 12:15 pm and dinner at 5 pm to 9:30 pm. So if you’re already at the Disney’s Riviera Resort, you can opt to join the walk-up list in hopes to be seated.
This doesn’t guarantee you a table but your chances are now exponentially higher.
If this is a method you want to try to use, I recommend you try to join the list right at restaurant opening.
One thing to note is that the walk-up list fills up and closes quickly and you must be on property in order to join.
4. Adjust your party size on the app to see if any reservation times appear
One of the best ways to find a reservation is to simply adjust your party size on the My Disney Experience app when searching for a reservation.
So if you’re looking for a time slot for 4 guests and can’t find anything, change your party size to 3 or 5 and see if anything pops up.
That way if you do find a reservation with the wrong party size, during check-in 15 minutes prior to your reservation, you can adjust your party size by removing or adding one (1) person on the My Disney Experience app.
One caveat is that you can only add up to one person on the app.
Personally, I recommend only using this method if you’re searching for a reservation for more than the amount of people you actually expect to be joining you. Because let’s be real, you don’t want to show up to the check-in desk asking to see if you can add 3 more people to your Topolino’s character breakfast reservation.
5. Start your search at 6:00 am EST exactly 60 days out
This is by far the most surefire way to almost guarantee a reservation for Topolino’s.
You can start to make Disney World dining reservations up to 60 days in advance on the My Disney Experience app or on the phone.
For Disney World resort guests, you can make reservations for your stay (up to a 10-day stay) up 60 days in advance of your hotel check-in date. It’s almost like you have a few extra days to beat everyone else trying to make dining reservations.
The one true downside to this 60-day window for all guests is that there are already guests who are already booked for your desired dates since they are also within their semi-extended booking window.
